When most people think of sketch comedy, they think of shows like Mad TV, Saturday Night Live, Key & Peele, or big production teams with writers' rooms, sets, and large budgets, but we don't even have a charged camera. Its hard enough to get my friends to show up to set not high or drunk. Over the past few years, our comedy sketches have generated millions of views across social platforms. We've won awards at film festivals. No studio. No network. No giant production budget. We barely even support each other. Just a group of friends getting together in my girlfriend's parent's basement.
Traditional sketch comedy often spends time setting up a joke. We don't have the luxury of having a big reveal or a nostalgic cameo 8 minutes into our video. We have to get to the point fast, which is hard because my friends both have severe learning disabilities. We spend most of the time filling up our SD cards with footage of us barely getting through the sentence and mispronouncing words. Take a chance on us and watch over 10 hours of footage.
